Suzie and I met in Prague, Czech Republic in 1996. We were both living there working and having the adventure of a life time. Over the next four years we had the awesome fortune to spend substantial time in Vienna, Austria and Zagreb, Croatia. In 2000 we moved back to the States, got married, and ended up in Dallas, Texas due to work.
The last six years have been a crazy whirl wind of growing our family. We are now blessed to have a gorgeous entourage: Clara (7), Nathan (5.5), Evelyn (3.5), Cali (dog), Jackson (cat). In 2007 Suzie & I moved back to Austin (my childhood home) leaving a cushy corporate life in Dallas to pursue a dream to be creative and have my own business. I owe Suzie big for her bravery and I will always be thankful to her for believing in me... I love you milacku.
We work as a team. I do my best to run sol'stice, be an artist, and create chaos. As a 1st grade teacher Suzie molds children's futures and in the process pays the bills and keeps me and our family on track. Opening our own business has been a challenge but we are happier now than ever, and I am living the life I dreamed.
Over the years and by way of our travels Suzie and I have learned that no matter where you are it all boils down to being safe, a good laugh, and a beautiful sunset. We hope in some small way that sol'stice garden expressions will help people slow down for a second and see and enjoy the simple beauty that's all around.
