sol'stice garden expressions™

Inspired by new and dynamic applications of concrete, gallery owner Christopher Sol Smartt creates classic, yet cutting edge tables, water features, and sculpture.  Each work is imagined, designed, and handmade one at a time.  A free form mold is built, then concrete is mixed and poured in small batches.  It is repeatedly hand troweled and slow cured.  Every piece is finished in a different fashion based on the artist's inspiration.  In addition to concrete, Chris uses glass, copper, stone, steel and a variety of salvage materials to create his art.  Chris has been a garage sale junkie for years and some of his best finds inspire him and are incorporated into his work.  His tables and sculpture provide a utilitarian, contemporary alternative to standard yard decor.  Minor imperfections are to be expected and add to the character of each piece.  All work is engineered for durability and with a minimal amount of care will last a lifetime.
