'THE SIREN'

My 'Siren' was invited to be at the Sculptor's Dominion in San Antonio for the Spring 2009 show. Bob Sinsky and I spent the first rainy day this Spring installing. I didn't mind a bit! I love the rain and what it brings...

'WAYWARD SUN'
'08 people's choice

My 8ft hanging sol'stice sun received the second place people's choice award at the 2008 sculpture challenge.  www.sculpturechallenge.com Phillip Hogget's event is held at his lovely sculpture garden on-site at his business Carved Stone. The event takes place the first weekend of March each year and is a lovely way to spend an afternoon and see work from great sculptors from all over Texas and beyond.

OTHER RECOGNITION:

The sculpture 'Ebb & Flow' you see in the below series of photos was originally created for The Fiddler's Green music and instrument shop on 35th Street in Austin, Tx. It stands just over seven feet tall on the base and weighs just over 220 Lbs. The body of the Altmanesque mandolin is concrete with inlaid glass. The neck is Brazilian steel wood. The head is concrete with inlaid stainless steel brackets and connectors for the kinetic spinners and bell. The final touch is stainless steel cable that runs the length of the piece as the strings.

'EBB & FLOW' is now featured in Marble Falls as part of a juried sculpture exposition called Sculpture on Main. www.marblefalls.org/art_in_marble_falls.htm
